Category:

Real stone paint for building exterior walls

Patent No: ZL201110425780.0

Product Description

The elastic texture (sand wall) coating contains sand particles as aggregates that are exposed on the surface of the film, primarily composed of acrylic polymers and natural mineral sands such as ceramic stone and colored sand. It not only has an aesthetically pleasing texture, a charming feel, is crack-resistant, and offers excellent protection and practicality, but it has also become very popular in Europe and the United States, especially in the Mediterranean region, accounting for over 80% of exterior wall coatings since the 1990s. With the increasing demand for environmental protection, decorative appeal, and durability, the advantages of elastic texture (sand wall) coatings in terms of environmental friendliness (free from harmful substances like benzene and formaldehyde, and no irritating odors), decorative quality, and durability have become more prominent, making it one of the mainstream products in building decoration materials.

Characteristics of Elastic Texture Paint

1. Over 95% of the components are natural inorganic minerals, achieving perfect harmony between buildings and the environment;

2. The rustic, rough, and stable aesthetic showcases a casualness that is unrefined, injecting surprise and distinct personality into modern architecture;

3. Excellent breathability, water resistance, and crack resistance, preventing wall bubbling and keeping the wall dry;

4. Outstanding weather resistance, generally lasting over 20 years, resistant to water, acid rain, snow, humidity, freeze-thaw cycles, and other damages;

5. High strength, impact-resistant, not easy to fall off, non-combustible, and fire-resistant.

Packaging: 50kg/barrel 75kg/barrel

Usage

Suitable for various building materials such as concrete, cement mortar, insulation systems, cement components, and pre-treated metal or wooden products, including high-end residential communities, villa clusters, hotels, and gymnasiums for both interior and exterior walls.

Precautions

1. The coating base must be dry, solid, and flat, with no differentiation, oil stains, or obvious salt and alkali efflorescence, moisture content < 10%, alkaline pH < 10. Metal substrates must be rust-free and coated with anti-rust primer, and wooden products must be completely dry and treated with several layers of moisture-proof primer for complete sealing.

2. Construction temperature should be between 5~35℃, relative humidity ≤ 80%, and outdoor construction should be stopped in windy or rainy conditions.

3. For porous and rough surfaces, please first level and repair with cement-based materials or special putty before proceeding with the coating work.

4. For the artistic application of elastic texture paint, please use matching colored primers for better results.

5. To avoid uneven gloss causing mottling, it is recommended to use spray application for semi-gloss and above finishes.

Coating Instructions and Parameters

Texture Scraping Series

Product Features: Granular texture, high weather resistance, easy to apply. Coating Tools: Mixer, trowel, small wooden scraper, roller. Theoretical Consumption: 2.0~4.0kg/㎡.

Application Method: After the colored primer dries, usually apply from top to bottom and left to right, scraping in sequence, while another person uses a small wooden scraper to create the desired texture in the established direction, keeping the small wooden board clean and moist, ensuring the texture direction is consistent with the scraping direction, and transitioning wet to wet at the seams, avoiding dry edges to prevent joint issues.

Application Requirements: The coating must be uniform, with no bare spots, no shadowing, and no joint issues.

Texture Rubbing Series

Product Features: American gravel texture, high weather resistance, easy to apply. Coating Tools: Mixer, trowel, wooden scraper, roller. Theoretical Consumption: 2.0~4.0kg/㎡.

Application Method: After the colored primer dries, usually apply from top to bottom and left to right, one person scrapes while another uses a wooden scraper to press and rub in a clockwise direction to achieve an even gravel texture, keeping the wooden scraper clean and moist, ensuring wet to wet transitions at the seams to avoid dry edges leading to joint issues. Application Requirements: The coating must be uniform, with no bare spots, no sand falling out, and no joint issues.

Texture Troweling Series

Product Features: European sand grain texture, high weather resistance, easy to apply. Coating Tools: Mixer, trowel, roller. Theoretical Consumption: 2.0~4.0kg/㎡.

Application Method: After the colored primer dries, usually apply from top to bottom and left to right, one person scrapes while another uses a trowel to press out an even sand wall texture, keeping the trowel moist, ensuring the scraped layer is uniform and smooth, and transitioning wet to wet at the seams to avoid dry edges leading to joint issues.

Application Requirements: The coating must be smooth and uniform, with no bare spots, no shadowing, and no joint issues.

Texture Pulling Series

Product Features: Textured pulling, super weather-resistant. Coating Tools: Mixer, trowel, roller. Theoretical Consumption: 2.0~4.0kg/㎡.

Application Method: After the colored primer dries, usually apply from top to bottom and left to right, one person scrapes while another uses a roller to evenly press and create a bark-like texture, keeping the roller moist, ensuring the pulled texture is uniform and smooth, and lightly pressing with the roller when semi-dry.

Brick-like Texture Sand Wall Effect Process

Step 1: Surface Leveling

Use a special leveling putty to level the exterior wall insulation plaster or ordinary cement mortar surface, ensuring the leveling layer is flat, solid, and firm. After qualified construction, sand down rough surfaces and obvious knife marks, and water-cure.

Step 2: Apply Anti-Alkali Sealing Primer

After the leveling layer has cured and dried properly, clean the surface debris appropriately and apply an anti-alkali sealing penetrating primer. This coating is very important; after application, it not only removes the surface dust but also reinforces the leveling layer.

Step 3: Apply the same color mid-coat paint.

After the anti-alkali sealing primer has dried (more than 4 hours at 25℃), clean the surface debris appropriately and apply the same color mid-coat paint. This coating has excellent sealing properties and significantly enhances the coverage of the texture layer.

Step 4: Snap chalk lines and apply tape.

After the same color mid-coat paint has completely dried (more than 12 hours at 25℃), snap chalk lines according to the design dimensions of the tiles, and apply tape along the lines, ensuring they are straight and at right angles. Cut off any excess or overlapping tape.

Step 5: Trowel the elastic texture paint.

Trowel the elastic texture paint layer according to the design thickness and effect, ensuring it is dense and evenly applied. Pay attention to the direction of the trowel and the consistency of the wood grain pattern; otherwise, it may create a rough surface that affects the visual effect.

Step 6: Remove the dividing line tape.

After the elastic texture paint is slightly dry (about 5-10 minutes), use a small knife to remove the dividing tape. If mixing with other colored tiles, be sure to scrape off the thick slurry of the mixed color tile area.

Step 7: Construction of mixed color tiles.

After the main color elastic texture imitation tile has completely dried (more than 24 hours at 25℃), reapply tape to the areas where the tiles were scraped off and construct the mixed color texture sand wall blocks.

Step 8: Sanding edges and repairing lines.

After the imitation tile sand wall coating has completely dried, use coarse sandpaper wrapped around a wooden board to sand the burrs and uneven edges of the tiles, and repair any defective lines with the same color mid-coat paint.

Step 9: Spray hydrophilic anti-pollution surface oil.

After the imitation tile sand wall coating has completely dried (more than 12 hours at 25℃), it is best to spray the hydrophilic anti-pollution surface oil evenly, ensuring there are no spots, and that the overall color and gloss are uniform after drying.
